Prohibited Foods

Potatoes, celery, peas, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, beans, lettuce, chili, mayonnaise, sausages.

Diet Plan

The grapefruit diet is designed for 21 days and you must have a grapefruit at every meal.

The food is quite specified for all meals, with minor variations.

Breakfast: half a grapefruit, two eggs, two slices of bacon

Lunch: half a grapefruit, low fat salad dressings, meat (any quantity of any kind)

Dinner: half grapefruit, the permitted vegetables (red or green) cooked with butter, meat or fish, coffee or tea
