The consumption of soy reduces the levels of bad cholesterol reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

This was the observation of Greek and Italian researchers during the 10th International Congress on Obesity, organized by the Greek Society for the Study of Obesity, Metabolism and Nutrition disorders, 29-30 December 2010 in the town of Corfu.

Soy acts positively in the liver and in adipose tissue.

Researchers have shown that soy contains high biological value protein and isoflavones, substances with strong antioxidant activity.

These substances modify the action of two genes, transcription factors (SREBP-1 and SREBP-2) in liver and adipose tissue thereby reducing the capacity of synthetic fatty acids and triglycerides, while increasing the damage (oxidation) of fat, (positive effect on weight loss).

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends consuming 25 grams of soy protein per day / 2 cups of soy drink for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases.

On the positive consumption of soy is also added, improving the quality of life and possibly reducing the incidence of troublesome symptoms (such as hot flashes) during menopause, and protecting the elasticity of the skin (as attributed to the action of isoflavones) .

Soybeans for the drinks, can easily become part of daily diet playing an active role in improving the quality of life. With a variety of drinks on the shelves of supermarkets soybeans are more accessible to the everyday life of all.
